Important information from Little People Nursery
It is with deepest sadness that this open letter is to inform you that after 35 years of us being in business, that sadly Little People Nursery will close its doors and cease trading on September 3rd 2021. This has not been an easy decision by any means and Robert and myself would like to say a huge thank you for all the support loyalty and patience staff and current parents have shown, especially over the most difficult last two years.
We have been struggling financially for many years with underfunding and the ever-increasing costs associated with running a nursery and the latest hurdle being the government furlough support that is ending. We have tried to carry on with finding ways to cut those outgoings without compromising the care we have provided over the years. However, it has got to a point now where we are looking at bankruptcy if we carry on as we are as the situation gets worse.
The pandemic has hit us as a nursery in so many ways not just financially, but emotionally and physically. This has meant we have had to change the way in which we work and how we interact with the families we support in our setting, and this is not what we wanted or what we originally took over the business to do.
With the massive changes in September with the Early Years Foundation Stage guidance and losing key members of staff over the last year, this has made a tough time even more difficult to be able to carry on as we are.
It will be hard closing the doors on a business that has been run and supported by such amazing, caring, wonderful people, that have become like family over the years, but we do have to make this decision to ensure we can come out of this without the inevitable bankruptcy.
As the nursery is closing this means that we are in effect giving notice that childcare will no longer be available here from the 3rd September. I am so sorry for any inconvenience that this causes.
Kind words from our clients
